Finance guru: Sunderland fans could now ‘turn against’ Kyril Louis-Dreyfus as statement issued
A cultural reset may be needed at Sunderland if Kyril Louis-Dreyfus wants to avoid alienating the fans.
So says finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest from behind the scenes at the Stadium of Light.
Louis-Dreyfus has come under fire of late after it emerged that he only owns 41 per cent of the club, contrary to previous supporter belief.

Members of the controversial Madrox regime meanwhile continue to hold a majority stake but are not involved in day-to-day business.
Per Chronicle Live on Monday (7 March), Louis-Dreyfus stated his regret to “fans who felt misled” and admitted he “misjudged the sensitivity” of the issue.
But Plumley insists that fans could further turn against the 25-year-old if he does not begin to run the club more transparently.
“I’m a big advocate of more transparency,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“We need more transparency and accountability. Looking at this retrospectively, he has apologised.
“But a little bit of advice and possibly a change in the culture around him at the time would have averted this.
“Some clubs do this very well. You can nip this in the bud before it becomes a problem. If you don’t do this, you can turn fans against you.
“If they feel they are being kept in the dark, you can see why that would happen.”

Sunderland, who are on a five-match unbeaten run, are currently 5th in League One.
Next up is a trip to Lincoln City on Saturday (19 March).
