Supercomputer predicts who’ll be relegated from the Championship alongside Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday look to already have one foot in League One, with remaining questions more about who will be joining them there.
On Monday, the EFL confirmed a further six-point deduction for Sheffield Wednesday due to regulation breaches.
The Owls went into administration in October, with Dejphon Chansiri‘s chaotic ownership over the club finally brought to an end.
Mike Ashley has bid for Sheffield Wednesday, with several other names set to be involved in the process, too.
Simon Jordan revealed that he had been part of a group interested in buying Sheffield Wednesday, but that a bid ultimately did not materialise.

Norwich City facing battle against the drop
Norwich City hired Philippe Clement in November, after the Canaries had relieved Liam Manning of his duties.
Manning’s side had won just two of 15 Championship games this season before the 40-year-old was sacked and replaced by the former Rangers boss.
Clement struggled to make an immediate impact at Carrow Road, but did lead his side to their first win since August when they beat QPR on Saturday.
| Championship – bottom five | Points |
| Oxford Utd | 18 |
| Swansea City | 17 |
| Portsmouth | 17 |
| Norwich City | 13 |
| Sheffield Wednesday | -10 |
Still, Norwich will have to battle hard to avoid the drop this season, although a four-point gap to 21st-placed Swansea City does not appear insurmountable.
Sheffield Wednesday, on the other hand, will certainly be going down. Point deductions have left the Owls with a tally of -10 points, and with a huge 27-point deficit to safety already.
Opta‘s supercomputer has given Henrik Pedersen’s side an overwhelming 99.98 per cent chance of going down this season, with that 0.02 prospect of safety unlikely to get any fans off their seats.
Norwich are also predicted to go down, with a 62 per cent chance that Clement will not be able to lead his side away from the drop.
Portsmouth make up the supercomputer’s bottom three, with Pompey facing a 39.24 per cent probability compared to Swansea’s 32.40.
Philippe Clement determined to turn Norwich situation around
Clement would have been aware of the situation he was walking into when he took the Norwich job, but the Belgian would not shy away from the challenge.
Speaking after Saturday’s win over QPR, he said: “It’s not about me, that’s not so important, and I knew that if we worked hard this moment would come.
“It’s more important for the players, for the club and for the fans also. What you saw during the game and after the game was the synergy is totally back, it was lost a few weeks ago.
“So it’s back now and they see a team fighting, but also a team creating, playing good football and of course we can still improve a lot of things.”
With the first win secured, Clement will hope that the floodgates can now open and his side can prove the supercomputer wrong.
