Swansea vs Blackburn postponement latest as Met Office issues Welsh weather warning
Swansea City’s Championship home clash against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday is under threat of being affected by adverse weather conditions.
The weather has played its part in seeing many EFL games called off over the last few months, particularly in League One and Two.
Championship games have largely stayed on, but Blackburn have seen two of their home matches either abandoned or postponed already this term due to an unplayable pitch.
Blackburn’s September clash against Ipswich was called off in the 80th minute, while they failed to host Sheffield Wednesday last month after a downpour of rain waterlogged the Ewood Park playing surface.
They travel to Swansea on Tuesday night in search of a vital three points to move away from the relegation zone, with another of their matches set to be affected by tough conditions.
Swansea vs Blackburn to be affected by new Met Office wind warning
Swansea are just five points and four places ahead of Rovers in 16th, after some mixed recent form which has seen them win two and lose two of their last five Championship outings.
Vitor Matos’ side are unbeaten in their last five league matches at the Swansea.com Stadium, and will try to utilise their home advantage once more on Tuesday against Valerien Ismael‘s strugglers.
A new update from the Met Office has seen a yellow weather warning for wind issued for parts of Wales and the south west of England, with Swansea included.
The warning is in place for Tuesday and could cause some delays on roads and when using public transport, while short-term losses of power and other services are also possible.
Who is in the running to replace Valerien Ismael as Blackburn manager?
Tuesday’s game could be decisive when it comes to Ismael’s future as Blackburn manager, after their recent poor run of no wins in their last six games.
They are embroiled in a relegation battle, and he could be sacked if they lose heavily in South Wales, with former Rovers star Damien Duff installed as the favourite to succeed Ismael, at odds of 4/1.

Ex-Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray is the second favourite at odds of 6/1, with David Wagner next up in the running at 8/1.
Lee Carsley and David Lowe sit at odds of 10 and 12/1 respectively, while another former manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, is priced at the same 14/1 odds as Phil Jones.
