Takehiro Tomiyasu: Arsenal have suffered ‘major blow’ as new pictures emerge – expert
Kevin Campbell has claimed Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury setback is “a major blow” for Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said the 23-year-old is the “best right-back” at the club despite Cedric Soares’ “really good” form.
As reported by club media (1 March), Tomiyasu was absent from training at Arsenal’s London Colney on Monday.

The right-back has not played since a 2-0 League Cup defeat to Liverpool on 20 January.
As quoted by Football.London (24 February), the Japan international has suffered an injury to his “other calf” after recovering from calf injury last month.
Tomiyasu has established himself as a fan favourite at the Emirates since arriving from Bologna in August.
When asked for his reaction to the injury news, Campbell told Football Insider: “Look, it’s a major blow but don’t take anything away from Cedric.
“He has come in and is doing a great job. I think the Premier League is taking its toll on Tomiyasu’s body a little bit. He’s struggled to recover from the injury and all of a sudden there’s a niggle somewhere else. I think it’s his body saying, ‘I need a bit of time to recover.’

“Luckily, Arteta has players who can come in and cover. Fair play to Cedric, he has come in and done well.
“It’s a blow losing Tomiyasu. He is obviously our best right-back. Cedric has been a really good deputy of late though.”
