Tammy Abraham: Roma respond as West Ham launch new move – sources

Roma are open to selling West Ham target Tammy Abraham before the transfer deadline on Friday (30 August), sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (18 August) that Abraham is on the wanted list at the London Stadium with another striker wanted after the signing of Niclas Fullkrug earlier this month.

Julen Lopetegui is happy with his new club’s transfer activity so far this summer but is keen to add another forward.

Abraham has been a long-term target for West Ham and they are now set to launch a new move for the ex-Chelsea man as his time in Italy comes to an end.

It has been widely reported that Danny Ings could be released before the deadline to make way for a new signing.

Sources say other exits will be necessary if West Ham are to complete their transfer business by adding a new striker and Paris Saint-Germain star Carlos Soler.

One of those players could be James Ward-Prowse, with Football Insider revealing on Tuesday (27 August) that Nottingham Forest are set to launch a loan-to-buy bid for his services.

Abraham has played just one minute in the new Serie A season after struggling with injury last term.

He made a comeback from a 10-month layoff in April and made 12 total appearances, starting in just two of those outings and scoring once.
