Tammy Abraham tipped to shine for Tottenham after journalist’s talks update – Robinson

Paul Robinson has tipped AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham to shine for Tottenham next season if signed as Harry Kane’s replacement.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one said the 24-year-old’s goal record in both Italy and England suggest he would be a success at Spurs.

According to The Athletic‘s Laurie Whitwell (28 March), super agent Jorge Mendes is scouring Europe for potential replacements for Harry Kane, who is of interest to Man United.

Mendes is said to have held talks over Roma’s Tammy Abraham and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.

Abraham joined AS Roma in August of last year and put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

When asked if he would welcome the addition of the ex-Chelsea striker, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs:

“Abraham would be a good option for Spurs.

“He’s done extremely well at Roma and scored plenty of goals even though they have not had an easy season. He didn’t have a bad record at Chelsea so you’d think he’d do well if he came back to the Premier League.

‘Look, he is not on the same level as Harry Kane but few are. If you get three figures for Kane then you go into the transfer market and buy one of the best strikers available.”

Abraham has been one of the standout players in Serie A this season.

He has contributed 23 goals and four assists in 40 appearances for Roma across all competitions.
