Tanguy Ndombele slammed by pundit after journalist’s Tottenham update – ‘there’s no way’
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte will not accept Tanguy Ndombele back into his dressing room this summer.
That is the view of former White Hart Lane number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 25-year-old’s future in north London.
Ndombele is currently on loan at Lyon, the club he left to join Spurs in July 2019.
However, according to the Standard‘s Dan Kilpatrick (8 April), the Ligue 1 club will not take up their option to sign the centre-midfielder permanently this summer.
Ndombele is instead expected to return to Conte’s side at the end of the season.
When asked if there is a way back for Ndombele at Spurs, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “It is a difficult situation for Spurs.
“They have spent a lot of money on transfer fees and wages that they quite simply aren’t going to recoup. It has not worked.
“There is no way that Conte is going to take him into that dressing room. He is a bad egg to have around. His attitude and application has been an issue.
“It is not just this manager. It is the three previous managers as well. One week it looks as if there’s a player there and the next there doesn’t. Sometimes he hardly moves around the pitch.
“It is a situation Spurs need to sort at the end of the season because they can’t have him around the dressing room and squad.

“Somebody will take him, I’m sure. If it’s not Lyon it will be somebody else because he’s a good player. There is managers out there who will believe they can get the best out of him. They will see it as a challenge and an opportunity.
“The best thing for Spurs is to get rid this summer.”
