‘Perfect’ – Exclusive: Darren Bent claims Ancelotti could transform struggling Everton player
Darren Bent has suggested that new Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti could be the perfect figure to transform Moise Kean’s fortunes at Goodison Park.
The former Tottenham and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that having a fellow Italian at the helm may be a game-changer for the struggling striker.
Bought to Merseyside from Juventus over the summer, Kean found himself out of favour under former boss Marco Silva, starting just two games.
Having seen the hitman hooked after an 18-minute cameo versus Manchester United, Bent says that Ancelotti’s arrival could be the catalyst for the forward to turn things around.
Bent told Football Insider: “After what happened the other week with him getting dragged off, this might be the perfect man-manager for him – someone who speaks his language, someone who gets it.
“I think this could be the perfect manager to help him (turn things around) and also this manager could really believe in him so it’s kind of a clean slate.”
Kean is yet to find the back of the net in his 16 appearances for the Toffees, although the majority of his league outings have come as a substitute in the final 20 minutes of games.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the preferred option to lead the line by both Marco Silva and caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson, while Richarlison has also played as a centre-forward at times.
In other Everton news, a Football Insider pundit claims there is “no doubt” that a big transfer promise has already been made at Goodison Park ahead of January.
