Paul Robinson claims there is not a player in the Liverpool squad that has not earned themselves a new contract as the club prepare to offer Sadio Mane a bumper new deal.

The former Spurs and Leeds shot-stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested the Reds will only get stronger if they win the title with Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho continually discussed.

Mane has been subject to interest from Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane keen on acquiring the Senegal international despite having signed Eden Hazard less than a year ago.

The Reds are looking to remove any doubt over the winger’s future by handing him a blockbuster new deal, Football Insider understands.

His current deal, signed in November 2018, does not expire until the summer of 2023.

When asked by Football Insider if tying key players down to new deals was the priority this summer, Robinson said: “The squad is only going to get stronger if they win the league, as we expect.

“I’m hearing talk of Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho and they have already got Mane, Firmino and Salah.

“There is nobody in that Liverpool squad who has not earned themselves a new contract.

“The last thing you want to do is let any of those players run into the last 18 months of a contract and be worried about negotiations. Tie them all onto long term deals.

“Sadio Mane is very key to what they do but he is one piece in a fantastic jigsaw – a jigsaw that will only get stronger with the likes of Werner and Sancho.”

The former Southampton attacker has scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.

Sporting director Michael Edwards has also been working on tying Georginio Wijnaldum down to a new deal, the midfielder’s contract expiring in June 2021.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club have set their sights on signing highly-rated Arsenal teenager.
