Things will ‘get ugly’ at Arsenal with fans ‘fuming’ after transfer latest – pundit
Things could “get ugly” at Arsenal amid a lack of incoming transfer activity this month.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with the Gunners yet to act this month.
Arsenal are yet to make a January signing despite manager Mikel Arteta sanctioning the departures of five first-teamers – including Calum Chambers, who joined Aston Villa on 27 January.
The north London giants had been linked with striker Dusan Vlahovic this month, but the Serbian signed for Juventus on Friday (28 January).
The Gunners have also been linked with Bruno Guimaraes but he is on the verge of signing for Newcastle United.
Kenny claims things could “get ugly” at The Emirates if Arsenal don’t sign anyone before Monday’s deadline.
“Everything was going so well for Arsenal,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“You thought they might try to build on that and bring some new faces in this month.
“So far, that hasn’t happened. I just think back to last January and the second half of last season when things were bad with the fans.
“They were all fuming and things could get ugly again if no one comes in.
“They are having a decent season and you can kind of see what Arteta wants to do.
“He’s not been backed again and we know what Arsenal fans are like with their owners.
“To be honest, I imagine the fans are fuming, especially as they have let a few players leave as well.”

The Gunners sit sixth in the Premier League after 21 games.
The transfer window slams shut on Monday (31 January) at 11pm.
