This may be real reason Man United haven’t sacked Solskjaer yet – ex-manager
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still in the Old Trafford hot seat because Manchester United don’t want to be seen as a “sacking club”, according to Alex McLeish.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Red Devils may have installed a “policy” preventing excessive turnover of managers.
According to the Telegraph (October 26th), club chiefs have given Solskjaer, 48, three more games to turn things around at Man United.

Man United sit seventh in the Premier League, already eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea after failing to register a win in their last four league games.
McLeish compared Solskjaer’s situation to that of former managers Jose Mourinho, Louis Van Gaal and David Moyes.
“People will tell you Manchester United don’t want to be seen as a sacking club,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ve dispensed with a few managers over the years since Sir Alex Ferguson.
“There’s a bit of conflict and opinion in that. From my perspective, Ole himself said: they’ve come too far. It’s difficult to translate that because they’ve not really pulled up trees and they don’t look like they’re about to.
“I find that difficult. Ole’s got to try big it up. When he says things like we’ve come too far, people will judge what he means.
“It doesn’t look like Man United are going to usurp Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea soon. These are the teams they need to get above.

“Mourinho was criticised but he did get a second place, won a couple of trophies, yet lost his job.
“They sacked Mourinho, Van Gaal, and Moyes. There’s obviously been a policy or talk of a policy in the club saying we need to stop being seen as this sort of club.“
