Thomas Partey pictured in new kit online after Arsenal talks collapse

Thomas Partey has been pictured in a different kit on social media, with a fresh twist in the ongoing uncertainty around his Arsenal future.

Partey played a key role in Mikel Arteta’s midfield last season, but his long-term future at the Emirates remains unclear.

His current contract is set to expire at the end of the month, and despite Arsenal holding discussions with Partey over a possible extension, negotiations have yet to progress.

Fabrizio Romano provided an update on 19 June, stating that talks between Arsenal and Partey over a new deal are “not advancing”.

He added there are now “concrete chances” the midfielder could leave the club in the coming days as a free agent.

Amid the speculation, the Ghanaian international has been seen wearing a different football shirt on social media, fuelling further rumours over a potential move away.

Thomas Partey poses in Flamengo shirt amid Arsenal exit rumours

Amid ongoing speculation over his future, Partey may have added fuel to the fire by posting a photo of himself wearing a Flamengo shirt on his Instagram story.

The shirt could be a nod to his former teammate Jorginho, who joined Flamengo from Arsenal earlier this transfer window, possibly as a tribute to their time together in midfield.

However, Partey might be following a similar path, as he is also set to leave Arsenal as a free agent.

Although Partey faced criticism from fans and pundits for some of his performances this season, he managed to retain his place in the team for the majority of the campaign.

Since joining Arsenal in 2020, he has has made 167 appearances for the club but has yet to agree on a new contract. A return to La Liga now appears increasingly likely, with Barcelona reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Partey as a free agent.

Arsenal prepared to let Oleksandr Zinchenko leave this summer

It looks set to be a summer of significant change at the Emirates, with several departures expected.

Football Insider revealed that Arsenal have decided to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko amid reported interest from AC Milan.

Unlike Partey and Jorginho, the Ukrainian international is expected to command a transfer fee if the Italian club pursues the left-back.

Borussia Dortmund have also shown previous interest back in the January window for Zinchenko, and it now seems inevitable that the 28-year-old will move on from Arsenal this summer.
