Three Aston Villa players named in Championship TOTW

Keinan Davis, Albert Adomah and James Chester have all been named in the Championship Team of the Week following their performance during Aston Villa’s 3-0 victory over Barnsley.

Davis managed to secure his debut Championship goal for Aston Villa while Adomah fired home the first two goals of the match.

Chester also impressed on Saturday after he helped his side keep a clean sheet as they gained their second lot of three points in the campaign.

Adomah, 29, was awarded the highest number of points out of the players elected for TOTW as he was rated as 9.2, while team mate Davis was given 8.5 and Chester slightly lower at 8.2.

Who Scored shared their Team of the Week on their official Twitter account on Monday morning.

Saturday’s result marked their second win of the competition after beating Norwich City 4-2 back in August, and also signified their first away victory of the season.

Thanks to the efforts from the Villa squad members, it meant that the Claret and Blues climbed to thirteenth place in the standings on 10 points.

It’s likely that the stars of Saturday’s match and the Team of the Week will remain in the squad for their upcoming fixtures in the EFL Cup and the Championship.

Steve Bruce’s side will host Middlesbrough exactly a week after their goalless draw on Tuesday before welcoming Nottingham Forest to their home ground for their ninth fixture of the Championship.
