Three Celtic players sweating over first-team spot during international break – opinion

Celtic’s stars will have a short break from club duty over the next two weeks as the final group stage clashes of the World Cup qualifiers take place – but some will face an anxious wait to see if they will keep their places in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Celtic boss has regularly chopped and changed his side this season, trying a variety of formations and selection choices, as they aim for a seventh consecutive Scottish title.

Injuries to key players have forced Rodgers’ hand with some of the changes however with his squad nearing full fitness, there will be a few of his squad who may find themselves relegated to the bench when the return to action against Dundee on October 14th.

Moussa Dembele has missed a huge chunk of the season so far while captain Scott Brown missed the 2-2 draw with Hibs last weekend with an injury picked up against Anderlecht.
