Three clubs Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool for in January after bust-up

Mohamed Salah said that he has “no relationship” with Liverpool manager Arne Slot, in a dramatic interview on Saturday night.

The winger failed to make it off the bench as Liverpool drew 3-3 with Leeds United at Elland Road, and expressed his frustrations to the media following the final whistle.

“I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden, we don’t have any relationship,” the 33-year-old said.

Salah is now considering his long-term future at Liverpool, following Slot‘s decision to leave him out of the starting line-up for the third consecutive game.

With the Salah situation causing a rift in the Liverpool squad, Football Insider looked at three clubs the legendary forward could depart to in January.

Saudi Pro League

Salah has continuously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the past few seasons, but has always reaffirmed his desire to continue in the Premier League.

In April, the Egyptian signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool, with the 33-year-old coming off what was arguably his best season for the Reds.

The winger scored an absurd 34 goals across all competitions for Slot’s side, and provided a further 23 assists.

But with Salah seemingly now on the way out, a potential move back to the Saudi Pro League will undoubtedly be back on the cards.

The forward would be in line for a deal in the multi-millions, and would be a huge draw for whichever club the Saudi Public Investment Fund attempts to sign him with.

Paris Saint-Germain

There are few clubs on the continent with the financial capacity to match Salah’s contract at Liverpool in January.

One of them is Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, who would be adding the 33-year-old to a forward line already widely considered among the best.

The likes of Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue tore up the scene last season amid a treble-winning season for Luis Enrique‘s side.

Salah’s arrival would surely go against the club’s recent motivations to sign younger players, but an opportunity to welcome the winger could be too good to pass up.

PSG have not quite represented the same force as was seen last season so far in this campaign, and could be in need of an edge to push them towards another Champions League triumph.

Bayern Munich

With a recent history of signing big wingers from Liverpool, Bayern Munich could offer Salah an opportunity to be reunited with his wing partner of last season.

The Bundesliga champions signed Luis Diaz in the summer, with the 28-year-old enjoying his time in Germany so far.

Bayern signed Salah’s previous partner, too, although Sadio Mane would only spend one year in the Bundesliga before moving on to the Saudi Pro League.

Vincent Kompany‘s side are arguably Europe’s form side this season, but could require an extra difference-maker in the final third as they look to win the Champions League for the first time since 2020.

Liverpool’s attitude over Salah’s potential departure is unknown, but a solution must be found to what is becoming an extremely ugly situation.
