Three Leeds players sweating over first-team spot during international break – opinion
Gaetano Berardi
Berardi is not a left-back. He may be the best option that Christiansen has there at the moment, but the fact that he is played out of position really isn’t doing him any favours.
The one-time Switzerland international is a warrior and someone who you can count on to put his body on the line in your hour of need – but that doesn’t make him the best possible option at left-back.
Vurnon Anita has played there out of position this season while Christiansen doesn’t seem too keen on Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
The Manchester United loanee is a natural in that role though and he should be called upon in the league in the future.
When the January transfer window opens up a left-back should be Christiansen’s top priority.
