The bright start has faded for the former Stoke striker, as he looked bereft of confidence after missing a series of sitters against his former side.
While he continues to offer a focal point for the attack, he only looked like threatening the goal once, when he pulled his shot wide of the post in the first half.
The Spanish striker kept his place in the side thanks to injury to Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic’s suspension, but with both issues now having been dealt with, he has a lot more competition for a place up front.
As such, it should not be Joselu who leads the line, with Gayle and Mitrovic both having a point to prove.
