Defender breezing it in top-flight: Three players Rangers must snap up in summer

John Souttar

Hearts defender John Souttar has been in easily the best form of his career this season for Hearts and has been tipped for a call-up to the Scotland side after impressing alongside Christophe Berra at Tynecastle.

Souttar is still only 21 and like Ross McCrorie is comfortable in central defence or as a holding midfielder and is breezing it in the Scottish top-flight.

The former Dundee United youngster won’t be at Tynecastle much longer is he keeps his level of performances up for Craig Levein’s side and the Gers must move to bring him along the M8 to Ibrox.

The Scotland Under-21 international will surely be in the running for player of the year awards in the coming months and is exactly the type of player Rangers should be doing everything to sign.
