Three selection headaches Christiansen must solve before Leeds opener v Bolton
COMMENT By Will Butcher
Thomas Christiansen has plenty of decisions to make when he chooses his first competitive line-up on August 6, as Leeds face Bolton at the Macron Stadium.
Garry Monk’s replacement as head coach has orchestrated deals for nine new first-team players, which includes permanent deals for Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko.
With that influx of players, the Spanish manager has one more friendly against Oxford United on Saturday in which he must decide what his best team is before travelling to Bolton.
Christiansen will be forced into one decision, with Sweden international Jansson suspended. That is likely to see Liam Cooper partner Matthew Pennington at centre-back.
Leeds play host to Oxford at Elland Road, who are managed by Monk’s former Leeds assistant Pep Clotet after the Spaniard was forced to find a new job.
