One of the main criteria the Rangers board were looking for when hiring Caixinha was someone who knew the club already and understood what it needed to get the Gers back to the top of Scottish football.
As someone who has been involved in Scottish football for the bulk of his professional career, McInnes will surely have an idea of what fans want – and just in case he doesn’t; they want Kenny Miller axed.
The senior player has had his time and it certainly isn’t the final weeks of 2017.
He might have a use as an ‘impact sub’ but there’s no chance Miller should be starting most weeks.
If McInnes – or anyone else for that matter – wants to win over Rangers fans then dropping Miller is as good a place as any to start.
