Senior player must be axed: Three Rangers changes McInnes must make if appointed for Ross County clash
Another big game, another Bruno Alves excuse
David Bates slotted in to central defence alongside after yet another call-off from Portuguese veteran Bruno Alves.
This time, the former Porto defender had suffered a knee injury; after recovering from a back injury which kept Alves out of the defeats to Hamilton and Dundee; which came after a calf strain ruled him out of the Old Firm clash with Celtic.
If Alves is THIS injury prone then serious questions need to be asked about why a two-year-deal was signed off on for a defender who has missed nearly as many games as he has played.
After complaining about the overly-physical nature of Scottish football, it doesn’t really look great for the big defender.
Still, at least he didn’t bottle out of a game against Gretna like Andy Webster once did.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues will make an approach for this manager on Sunday and hope to appoint him within days.
