Herrera has had limited chances to show what he can do on the pitch despite making so many appearances of the bench and now finds himself fourth choice striker at Ibrox.
The former UNAM Pumas striker is almost certain to follow compatriot Carlos Pena back across the Atlantic in the summer after a disappointing spell in Glasgow.
With Herrera unable to even make the bench for Tuesday’s clash with Partick Thistle, the former Mexican international will be looking for a way out.
