Three senior Rangers players fighting for futures after manager search is over

Eduardo Herrera

Rangers

Since signing in the summer, like Pena, from Mexico, Herrera has also struggled to get himself fully established in the first-team and could be one of the first players cut by the next Gers manager.

The 29-year-old striker has a lot of experience under his belt of top-tier football in Mexico with UNAM Pumas as well as Caixinha’s former club Santos Laguna, but he is yet to apply any of that in Glasgow.

Even Caixinha didn’t seem too fond of the forward, with him starting just one game across all competitions this season.

Morelos is clearly the best attacking option on the books at Ibrox, but the fact that the aging Kenny Miller still gets in the team over Herrera speaks volumes.

Since Caixinha was sacked, Herrera has played just three minutes in two games, a clear sign that he is not fancied by caretaker boss Murty.
