Cardoso has missed the last three games after undergoing facial surgery, but that has seen Ross McCrorie and Danny Wilson form a solid partnership in defence.
Bruno Alves and Cardoso were Caixinha’s preferred choice in an all-Portuguese partnership, but since Murty has taken over, it appears that the Gers’ all-Scottish combo has worked better.
Rangers’ next manager may see this and wonder what is the point in keeping around Cardoso and perhaps even Alves if McCrorie and Wilson are doing a much more solid job.
