28-year-old must be sold: Three things we learned from Everton in first Allardyce win
Rooney has found his place
Some people criticised David Unsworth for suggesting Wayne Rooney should play deeper after he had just scored a hat-trick against West Ham, but he was right.
Allardyce played the former England international in midfield, and in the second-half he was an important influence on the game.
The 32-year-old’s passing was crisp and he just seemed to inspire those around him. The midfielder may have dropped a little too deep at times, but from his midfield position, he just seemed to be everywhere at once.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are favourites to sign this Allardyce favourite who was valued at £20million in the summer.
