Caleb Ekuban yet again proved that he is miles off Championship standard and if Victor Orta has any logic about him then the 24-year-old must be binned as soon as possible.
Ekuban arrived for £500,000 from Chievo last year off the back of a brilliant season in the Albanian top-flight with FK Partizani.
Who knew that someone who was good in the Albanian league would be an absolute flop in England’s second tier?
It was a ridiculous decision to sign Ekuban and that was ever more obvious against Aston Villa when he failed to even get in the game.
He showed one moment of magic when he managed to nip the ball past Mile Jedinak before going down a bit too easily, but even that glimpse of pace and skill was overshadowed by a stupid attempt to win a free-kick when he may have been able to score if he stayed up.
Sorry Ekuban, but you’re not good enough and no one will be sad to see you leave Elland Road.
