24-yr-old must be omitted for next game: Three things learned about Rangers in win v Hearts
Rangers could build a team around Docherty
Greg Docherty made his first league start at Ibrox and put in a stellar performance against Hearts as he ran the show from the centre of midfield alongside Sean Goss.
The midfielder was key to almost everything for the Gers after his move from Hamilton last month and if that is the type of performances Rangers fans can expect he should have the team built around him.
The 21-year-old was direct, used the ball well and charged into tackles with aplomb as the Gers dominated proceedings against Craig Levein’s side.
With a core of young talent like Docherty in and around the first-team squad already, there could be the makings of the Gers’ team for a long time to come.
In other Rangers news, the club have secured an out-of-window deal for a goalkeeper.
