Senior player mystery deepens: Three things learned from Rangers defeat v Kilmarnock
Alves’ injuries seem to come for the big games
It might just be coincidence but Bruno Alves’ injuries always seem to coincide with important Rangers games and the mystery deepened on Saturday when he missed the Killie clash.
First Old Firm of the season and Alves misses out with a calf injury.
Trip to Pittodrie? Back problem.
Now, with a trip to Celtic Park on the horizon, the senior player has a groin issue.
With so many experienced players already on the sidelines, Alves’ absence is the last thing Rangers need going into next weekend’s Old Firm clash.
Hopefully, the Portugal international is fit for next weekend’s trip to Celtic Park but if he’s not, his injury record will only continue to arouse some fans’ suspicions that he’s throw the towel in already.
In other Rangers news, four new signings are on the cards in January after the appointment of Graeme Murty until the end of the season.
