Three things learned about Tottenham in clash v Southampton: This liability must be axed

Aurier warrants the axe

While the majority of the Spurs squad were left shining against Southampton, the performance of Serge Aurier would have left Mauricio Pochettino with some serious concerns.

The former PSG man is without a doubt a serious threat going forward, but he is such a liability at the back.

Despite being second best, the Saints still found joy down their left, which Aurier should have been marshalling, and his defensive positioning was suspect throughout.

With Kieran Trippier left out for the second successive game, there certainly is an argument for the Ivory Coast international to be axed in the new year, with the England full back offering an attacking threat while remaining solid at the back.
