This man miles away from first team – Three things learned in Tottenham v West Ham
Pochettino underestimated West Ham spirit
While Tottenham looked good value for their lead at the half time whistle, it was what happened after the break which determined the result.
West Ham looked invigorated and up for the challenge, but there was no change in Spurs’ demeanour, having breezed past a team lacking in confidence in the first half.
That comes down to Pochettino preparing his side for the second half and he clearly underestimated how much a challenge the visitors would face.
Credit to Slaven Bilic, a man under severe pressure of late, for getting his players revved up to secure victory, but it was a miscalculation from the Tottenham boss which allowed West Ham back into the game.
