The diving header to open the scoring from Dele Alli’s cross was timed to perfection, and he showed his poacher’s instinct to find himself in the right place at the right time for his and Spurs’ second.
Mauricio Pochettino will be relieved that he is showing his deadly form once again, with a series of fixtures coming up which the boss will see as easily winnable.
England will also be happy to see their star striker hitting form with an international break for World Cup qualifiers just around the corner.
