Awful attacker must be axed: Three things learned about West Ham in clash v Everton

Midfield mediocrity

This clash was won and lost in the middle of the park, and West Ham did not help themselves with an ineffectual display.

They allowed the Toffees to dominate the midfield which set the tone for the entirety of the match, Wayne Rooney dictating the play as well as scoring the goals.

Yes, West Ham managed to grab somewhat of a foothold in the opening of the second half, but it did not do enough to prevent Everton from regaining control and netting another two goals in the second 45 minutes.

Something needs to change, whether that be the players chosen or the tactics employed, because the Hammers cannot allow sides to dominate like this again.
