First-team star has checked out, must be sold: Three things learned from Celtic in draw v Rangers
COMMENT
Celtic played out a 0-0 draw with their old rivals Rangers in a game which defined the old cliche of ‘a game of two halves’.
Brendan Rodgers made three changes from the team which defeated Dundee on Boxing Day, with Moussa Demebele, Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair all starting.
Some poor play by Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig gifted Rangers the first chance of the game, Craig Gordon saving Morelos’ shot.
Celtic then dominated the next period of the game, firstly James Forrest then Scott Sinclair were denied by Wes Foderingham, before Sinclair missed a sitter on the stroke of half-time.
The second-half belonged to Rangers, as they created a host of good chances.
James Tavernier was denied by Craig Gordon before an Alfredo Morelos header was miraculously saved by the Hoops goalkeeper.
Morelos then sent a free header wide of the post when it looked easier to score.
A draw was a fair result in reflection, as both sides had chances to win the game.
