Christiansen must axe 25-year-old: Three things we learned from Leeds in win v Barnsley

Caleb Ekuban could be real deal

Caleb Ekuban’s performance today will have given Leeds boss Thomas Christensen plenty to think about.

On-loan striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga started off well for the Whites this season, scoring five goals in 10 Championship matches, but he has come under huge criticism recently.

Ekuban could have added a third goal for Leeds after half-time and although he did not score, he caused all sorts of problems for the Barnsley defence. His movement on and off the ball was superb throughout.

It’s time for Christiansen to axe Lasogga from the line-up and make him the back-up striker to Ekuban, who proved he has the commitment to lead the line for Leeds today.
