Defender blow could be massive: Three things learned about Rangers in defeat v Celtic
Bates injury could be a huge blow
Defender David Bates was stretchered off after 15 minutes and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The defender injured his ankle in the build-up to Celtic’s first goal before being replaced by Fabio Cardoso.
The 21-year-old was making his 11th consecutive start for the Gers and will now face an anxious wait to see the extent of any damage.
Since coming into the side, Bates has really impressed with manager Graeme Murty even suggesting he could force his way into the Scotland squad.
Cardoso looked very rusty on his return to action and the Gers will be hoping Bates doesn’t miss much game-time
