Tim Steidten still haunts West Ham as major new blow emerges away from London Stadium
Tim Steidten has been nowhere near West Ham’s transfers since the two parties went their separate ways in February.
West Ham were hugely critical of Steidten for his transfer failures at the London Stadium, with current winger Luis Guilherme and Guido Rodriguez two of the biggest letdowns from recent transfer windows.
Two managers, Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter, have failed to work with the calibre of players in East London, which has led to the club currently sitting 19th in the Premier League table.
The German was also instrumental as Niclas Fullkrug signed for West Ham in a deal worth £28million, and the striker has yet to repay any of that transfer fee via his performances on the pitch.

Niclas Fullkrug’s disastrous West Ham spell worsens
Fullkrug spent much of last season sidelined with an injury, and with Michail Antonio also out, Jarrod Bowen was often forced to deputise as a lone striker. Unsurprisingly, he thrives anywhere on the pitch.
In 27 appearances since the summer of 2024, he has notched just three goals and two assists, and has yet to add to his record in the 2025-26 campaign. It is likely to stay that way for a while longer.
Speaking during the international break [Kicker], Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the striker has a “torn muscle bundle in his thigh,” and that he will likely need another few weeks on the sidelines.

It is yet another major setback for the forward, who has done very little at the London Stadium to convince supporters that Steidten was right to put his faith in him.
Who did Tim Steidten turn down in favour of Fullkrug?
Football Insider revealed the same summer that Youssef En-Nesyri was an outstanding candidate, with Ademola Lookman, Serhou Guirassy and Ivan Toney also being considered by the Hammers.
Jhon Duran was a major talking point throughout the summer, but for the sake of a couple of million pounds, Steidten failed to agree a deal with the talented Colombian, sticking the club with Fullkrug instead.
The Hammers have scored just six Premier League goals so far this season, and with three of them coming from Bowen, it is pretty clear where Nuno Espirito Santo‘s team is lacking on the pitch.
Steidten’s poor decisions continue to haunt the Irons. Getting rid of him was possibly the best thing that David Sullivan has done in recent years.
