‘Time has run out’ on Elneny’s career at Arsenal after father’s TV reveal – pundit
Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal career is drawing to a close with his contract expiring next summer, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 29-year-old has “never let the club down” but a “better standard” of players are needed.
The Sun reported earlier this month (November 17th) that Elneny was poised to depart the Emirates Stadium in January – with Galatasaray mooted as a potential destination.

However, in an interview with Shams TV (November 21st), the Egyptian’s father said the midfielder will be staying at Arsenal until his contract expires next summer, insisting: “Arteta wants Mohamed to stay”.
Elneny has played just 59 minutes of Premier League football this season.
Campbell insisted the former Basel star will not receive a contract extension.
“I think time has run out on his Arsenal career – this contract will be his last,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s never let the club down; he’s always done what they’ve asked of him. He’s always tried, he’s quiet, gets on with his job – fair play to him.
“It’s gonna get to the summer, the club are going to thank him for everything and he’s going to move on to pastures new.
“If we’re going to have squad players, they have to be a better standard – no disrespect to him. The squad needs building up, it’s too thin.”

Elneny has played 136 times for Arsenal since joining in 2016.
The midfielder has been capped 82 times by Egypt.
