Tino Livramento tipped to seal ‘mega-money’ Man United switch after update – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed a Man United move for Southampton right-back Tino Livramento would cost “mega-money”.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 19-year-old would “really improve” the full-back options at Old Trafford.
As per Calciomercato last Saturday (26 February), Man United have been monitoring the progress of Livramento since he joined Southampton from Chelsea for a reported £5million last summer (2021).
However, The Athletic claimed in September 2021 the Stamford Bridge club have a £38million buy-back option which becomes active in 2023.
Hutton hailed the “brilliant talent”, who has netted once and assisted two in 21 Premier League appearances this term.
“It’s going to cost Man United a lot of money,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“They’ve had real problems at right-back this season. Ralf Rangnick has chopped and changed from game to game and it’s not really been settled.
“They’ll be looking to sort that out for the new manager. I’m not sure Chelsea will be willing to fork out £38million with Reece James the obvious first choice, but you’re still talking a lot of money.
“It’ll be an interesting one to keep an eye on this summer. Livramento is a brilliant talent who would really improve that squad – especially if they’re looking to play with wing-backs.
“But it’s going to cost them mega-money, that’s for sure.”

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot have scrapped over the Man United right-back berth since Rangnick’s arrival.
The Old Trafford club sit fourth in the Premier League.
