Tomas Soucek tipped for ‘bumper pay rise’ after West Ham source’s update – pundit
Kevin Campbell has insisted Tomas Soucek is in line for a “bumper pay rise” at West Ham.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 26-year-old is the “perfect foil” for fellow midfield star Declan Rice.
A West Ham source told this site on Friday (11 February) that West Ham are set to open talks with Soucek over a new and improved contract in order to fend off interest from Premier League and European sides.
The midfielder, who has impressed since joining the Irons for a reported fee of £16.9million in 2020, is out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Campbell claimed the Czech Republic captain has done a “perfect” job for the Premier League high-flyers.
“Soucek has done a brilliant job in that midfield alongside Declan Rice,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s the perfect foil for Rice with the way he has performed. He hasn’t quite been as prolific as last year, but look at where they are. They’re fifth in the table even without those goals.
“He’s experienced, tough, he’s got good size about him, and I think he’s been the perfect partner for Rice.
“He deserves that bumper pay rise.”

Soucek scored 10 league goals last season as West Ham qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-place finish.
The Hammers sit fifth in the Premier League this term after 25 games.
In other news, pundit claims another West Ham star’s value is set to skyrocket in the coming weeks.
