Tosin Adarabioyo reacts to Raul Jimenez return following Aston Villa swap proposal

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo could be set for a move away from Stamford Bridge as manager Enzo Maresca plots an ambitious deal with Aston Villa.

The Blues are enjoying a successful summer after winning the Club World Cup in America after beating Champions League winners PSG 3-0.

That success adds to their Europa Conference League triumph and top four Premier League finish, which has guaranteed a return to Champions League football next season.

Despite already signing three new attacking additions, Maresca is still looking to do business in the window which could mean a departure for Adarabioyo alongside striker Nicolas Jackson in a swap deal for Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers.

Adarabioyo reacts to Fulham star message

Amid the transfer speculation, Adarabioyo has reacted to former team mate at Fulham Raul Jimenez.

The 27-year-old spent four years with the Cottagers before moving across West London to Chelsea last summer.

Taking to Instagram, Jimenez posted pictures from pre-season training at Fulham with the caption: “Back with the team,” which was liked by Adarabioyo.

The Mexican netted 14 goals across all competitions for Fulham last campaign, helping Marco Silva’s side to an 11th placed Premier League finish.

Adarabioyo has not been able to cement himself as a regular starter in Maresca’s side, with the central defender facing tough competition for places.

He did start three games at the Club World Cup, but was left on the bench for the final with Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah preferred.

Chelsea believe they can tempt Aston Villa into a sale of midfielder Rogers if they include Adabaioyo and his team mate Jackson as part of the deal.

Rogers would further add to Maresca’s stacked attacking options, and the 23-year-old would compete with Cole Palmer for a place in the team.

Having signed strikers Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, Maresca feels he can also let go of Jackson after just two seasons at the club for the 24-year-old.

Pedro too has already made an instant impact, scoring three goals in three games at the Club World Cup.

Villa have been exploring a move for Jackson already amid the potential loss of Ollie Watkins and the lack of options available up-front to Unai Emery.
