James Maddison and Jack Grealish send messages reacting to Dele Alli news

James Maddison is among Tottenham players to have reacted to Dele Alli on social media following his official transfer to Serie A side Como.

The former Spurs and Everton midfielder finalised his transfer on 19 January after months of speculation, having trained with the Italian club prior to the move.

Managed by Cesc Fabregas, Como currently sit 17th in Serie A after being promoted just last season.

Alli had been training with Everton for six months after his release but was unable to secure a new deal. Following the Como announcement, Alli took to Instagram to share his excitement, writing: “On purpose with purpose. Proud to be here”.

The post drew reactions from several notable players. Tottenham’s Maddison commented, “Best of luck my boy” while Sergio Reguilon wrote, “Very very happy for you hermano. Best of luck”.

Other notable stars, including Jack Grealish, Tammy Abraham, and Ryan Sessegnon, also showed their support.

Tottenham Need a Resurgence, and Maddison Could Be Key

Spurs players have yet to respond after their embarrassing 3-2 loss to Everton on 19 January, where they were trailing by three goals at halftime.

A player of Alli’s capability during his White Hart Lane days could have been ideal for either of his former clubs as they both struggle for form.

However, his time in north London is firmly in the past, despite him recently posting on social media reminiscing about his years under Mauricio Pochettino.

Maddison, on the other hand, remains under scrutiny this season, with some pundits arguing he has yet to fully prove himself under Ange Postecoglou.

His team are languishing in mid-table, sitting 15th, only eight points clear of Ipswich, who are in the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Alli looks set to join Como, a team battling to stay in Serie A. He’ll be hoping his third club since leaving Spurs can reignite the spark that made him a standout during his Tottenham days.

Grealish for his part is also experiencing an uncertain time under Pep Guardiola at Man City.
