Tottenham backed to complete Leandro Trossard deal soon after new offer twist – ‘he will go’ says expert
Alan Hutton has backed Leandro Trossard to join Tottenham this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back suggested Trossard is “trying to get out” of Brighton.
On 14 January, Football Insider revealed that Antonio Conte’s side are ready to submit a new big-money offer for the 28-year-old.
The Belgium international was axed from Roberto de Zerbi’s squad for the 3-0 victory over Liverpool and has gone public with his desire to quit this month.
As relayed by Fabrizio Romano (13 January), Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair claimed the Seagulls boss “humiliated” the winger and told him a transfer would be the “best solution”.
Trossard’s current contract at the AMEX runs until 2024.
He has made 16 Premier League appearances for Brighton this season and has scored seven goals and provided three assists in those outings.
When asked if Trossard could be convinced of a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think so.
“It seems like he is trying to get out of the club now. I have seen these things happen before and normally it is the player trying to get out of the club.

“Tottenham had around a £12m bid knocked back for him, I think they are looking for about £25m. I understand them wanting that for him.
“I think it will happen, he will leave in this window. He has made his stance clear and I think it will happen It would be a good signing for Tottenham if they can get it done.“
