Tottenham backed to complete signing of Hugo Lloris ‘upgrade’ as star ‘pays the price’ – pundit
Tottenham must sign a better goalkeeper than Hugo Lloris when the transfer window opens.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the stopper’s recent performance.
Against Newcastle on Sunday (23 October), Lloris, 35, was at the centre of the action as Newcastle stormed into a 2-0 first-half lead.

He claimed to have been fouled by Callum Wilson for Newcastle’s opener but after a long VAR check the goal was given.
The France captain was also slow to react as Miguel Almiron snuck the ball under him for the visitor’s second.
McManus claims Lloris’ time at Tottenham may be coming to an end.
“He is somebody who I have never really rated,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“He’s the captain of France so he is obviously a good goalkeeper but I think, if you are Tottenham, then you can upgrade him.
“For the Callum Wilson goal he should have just lumped the ball up the pitch but he tried to be clever and paid the price. What was he thinking?
“He reacts slowly for the second goal, it’s a great finish from Almiron but it goes under Lloris. You can point the finger at him for both goals.
“As I say, he is someone who maybe I have only seen him on his bad days. I don’t think he is the calibre Tottenham could have.
“I think Tottenham could have a better goalkeeper in there and maybe that is something they will look to address.”

Lloris has started all of Spurs’ games this season.
Fraser Forster was signed in the summer to provide cover but he has not yet been called upon by Antonio Conte.
