Tottenham backed to sign Coady and Romero next week after fresh Nuno reveal - pundit
Frank McAvennie insists a Tottenham swoop for Connor Coady is a “no brainer” due to his relationship with Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to a fresh update on the club’s pursuit of the defender.
Yesterday (2nd August), Football Insider revealed Tottenham have opened preliminary talks over signing Coady.
It is understood Nuno is pushing hard for the club to land his former player.
Coady, 28, only missed one Premier League game while Nuno was at Molineux.
This site also understands Atalanta defender Cristian Romero has accepted Tottenham’s offer of a long term contract.

McAvennie claims Tottenham are trying to fix their most obvious problem before the season starts.
“Nuno knows him, it makes sense,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I don’t know much about Coady really. I know he’s a brilliant player and to get into the England squad as a Wolves player is some feat.
“Going into a new club, you need a few familiar faces, someone you can trust.
“He never missed a game for Wolves as far as I can tell, he’s always there.
“It’s a bit of a no brainer for me, we all know Tottenham need a new defence.
“But if they get Coady and Romero in quickly, as in next week, that’s big for them and good start.”
Coady spent the summer at Euro 2020 with England but didn’t make an appearance.
Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini remain Spurs’ only signings this summer.
