Tottenham backed to seal 'thrilling' Traore signing as talks open with second Wolves star - pundit
Adama Traore would be a “thrilling” signing that Tottenham fans can get behind.
So says ex-Premier League striker Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the lightning-quick Wolves wide man.
The Daily Mail reported on 2nd August that new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to raid his old club for the 25-year-old Spaniard.
Football Insider revealed back in April that Wolves’ number one transfer priority this summer is selling Traore.
This site also first broke news on 2nd August that Spurs have opened preliminary talks over signing fellow Wolves player Conor Coady, 28.
Whelan insists that Traore, whose contract at Molineux runs in the summer of 2023, would be a hit in North London.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “He’s a thrilling player, very direct. He improved a lot at Wolves in his time with Nuno Espirito Santo.
“The criticism was always that he had a lot of pace but his end product wasn’t there. We’ve seen that’s got a lot better.
“He has that trust with Nuno and I think the Tottenham fans would enjoy him. He can open up doors out of nothing.
“Liverpool and Leeds United have been interested in him in the past too, of course. So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they enter talks over that one.
“We’ve seen many managers go back to their old clubs and take players from them. It’s something that’s only natural.”
