Tottenham backed to sign Wilfried Zaha after source’s ‘big’ update – expert
Alan Hutton has claimed a move to Tottenham would be a good opportunity for Wilfried Zaha.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa defender said that although Zaha is unlikely to be a regular starter at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, he will still be able to improve the side.
On 13 December, sources told this site that Tottenham are interested in signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.
The forward has just over six months left on his contract at Selhurst Park and has rejected a number of offers for a new deal.
There is expected to be a major battle between Premier League clubs for his signature at the end of the season.
When asked if Zaha would be a good fit in Antonio Conte’s side, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think he would.
“The formation that they play, he could definitely slot in to one of those three attacking positions. Possibly wing back in certain games.
“They are heavily stacked up there. Does he want to go to that team? It is an amazing club, playing in an amazing stadium in an amazing training ground under a great coach.

“Does he want to go there and maybe not be a starter week-in week-out? I do not know if that is something he would want at that age. But, I still believe it is a good opportunity.
“He is a confident guy, he will believe that he can go there and improve them. So I could see it working.“
