Tottenham ‘confident’ of agreeing ‘huge’ Heung-min Son deal
Tottenham are “confident” of agreeing a new contract with captain Heung-min Son once the season comes to an end, sources have told Football Insider.
Son’s current deal with Spurs is set to expire in June 2025, but the club hold an option of extending it by a further 12 months.
Tottenham chiefs have held talks with the South Korean international and all parties are now expecting to reach an agreement.
Football Insider revealed last month a new deal isn’t likely to be signed until the summer, with the 31-year-old forward and the club focusing on finishing the season strongly in their bid to qualify for the Champions League.
Tottenham could secure Heung-min Son on long-term contract
Sources say it will be a “huge” package that reflects Son’s value and importance to the club.
It will be a massive bonus for Tottenham if they can secure the forward to a long-term deal following his outstanding performances over a number of years.
With the South Korean set to turn 32 in July, that would essentially see him commit the rest of his career – or at least the remainder of his peak years – to staying in North London.
Son was handed the armband by Ange Postecoglou last summer following the exits of Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane.

The forward is looking to help Spurs start pushing forward again on the field, with his side currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table.
It’s going to require a massive effort to finish in the Champions League places this season as Tottenham currently find themselves seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, but they do have two games in hand.
