‘Tottenham deal getting done’ soon – Amanda Staveley update today

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has suggested Amanda Staveley may be “cleaning house” ahead of a potential play for investment at Tottenham.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed recent developments are not a blow to her hopes of investing at Spurs.

A filing with Companies House on Monday (14 October) revealed that Redstart Leisure Limited had filed a special resolution to wind up the company – with a voluntary liquidator set to be appointed.

Redstart was used in the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle in 2021 which saw Staveley take an initial 10 per cent of the club.

Staveley’s company Apollo Belvedere Services, formerly PCP Capital Partners, was also liquidated in September.

The 51-year-old has been spotted in the executive boxes at Tottenham in recent weeks after Football Insider revealed earlier this month (1 October) that she is advancing on plans to make a sizeable investment using Middle Eastern money.

Staveley laying groundwork for big Tottenham investment, says Wyness

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I don’t think this is a negative sign in any move for Tottenham.

“This is more of a housekeeping exercise for Amanda and her past companies. There are some legal issues with a Greek investor who loaned her some money.

“There is also PCP, the vehicle she went through for the Newcastle investment.

“Everything will be tidied up, and this may well be in advance of the Tottenham deal getting done.

“It’s making sure everything is in order.

“She’s cleaning house and getting everything set so any vehicle she uses to invest in Tottenham is totally clean and free of any problems.”
