Sources: Multiple Tottenham deals on the cards after Daniel Levy jets out to Middle East

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy held commercial talks with a number of Bahranian companies during his recent visit to the country, sources have told Football Insider.

Levy attended the Grant Prix in Bahrain last month to mark Spurs’ new 15-year partnership with Formula One, which will see a karting track installed at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

A commercial source has told this site that Levy met with representatives of blue-chip companies during the trip, including several from Bahrain itself.

The talks are understood to have been fruitful and there is a possibility that they could lead to commercial partnerships in the near future.

Bahrain is keen to follow fellow Gulf states Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in using its sovereign wealth funds to expand its geopolitical influence through football.

Spurs trousered £183.5m in commercial income in 2021-22, and they are keen to capitalise on sponsorship opportunities in the Middle East.

Levy is known to have close links with Qatar Spots Investment chairman Nasser Al-Khelaiffi and it was reported earlier this year that the pair had met for exploratory talks regarding potential investment in Spurs.

Chief commercial officer Todd Kline meanwhile is targeting the Middle East as a growth market, both in terms of external commercial opportunities and brand building.

Their A1 priority at the moment, however, is the search for a new manager.

Antonio Conte’s former assistant Cristian Stellini will remain in charge until the end of the season, by which time Spurs hope to have a more permanent solution.

Spurs are three points outside the top four ahead of Saturday’s (8 March) clash with Brighton.
