Tottenham expected XI v Chelsea: Fans favourite suffers heartbreak as trio axed

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – The number one was rested against Swansea but is certain to take his usual place in the team’s league starting XI in the first of the three changes.

Kieran Trippier (Right-back) – The crossing king has shared right-back duties with Serge Aurier for most of the season, but is the more competent of the two, both in terms of defensive reliability and final-third effectiveness.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-back) – Likely to get the nod over fit-again Toby Alderweireld, who has only made two appearances for Tottenham since suffering a hamstring tear at the start of November. The Colombian is the man in possession and has made a sound impression during his first season at the club. This will mean heartbreak for Alderweireld and his legions of followers.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – Mr. Reliable for Spurs this year, Vertonghen is one of the first names on the team sheet and is certain to be in the back four at the Bridge.

Ben Davies (Left-back) – Davies has capitalised on Danny Rose’s injury problems to become Pochettino’s first-choice left-back. The Welshman’s greater defensive capabilities should see him start on Sunday.
